TWA USAAF North American AT-6 Harvard

The North American Aviation T-6 Texan is an American single-engine advanced aircraft used to train pilots of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF), the United States Navy, the Royal Air Force, and Royal Canadian Air Force from World War II into the 1970s.
The United States Army Air Corps (USAAC) and USAAF designated the aircraft as the AT-6, the United States Navy as the SNJ, and the British Commonwealth air forces as the Harvard.

TWA used the “Harvard”, the British designation, as part of the training for ferry pilots at the Kirtland Field’s Eagles Nest Flight Center in 1941. The pilots would eventually be used deliver B-28 Hudsons to England under the “lend-lease” agreement of 1940. The AT-6 was the most widely used trainer in the world. Kirtland Air Force Base and the New Mexico Air National Guard (NMANG) also used the AT-6 for pilot proficiency and liaison purposes.
