The Canadair CL-41 Tutor) was the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), later the Canadian Armed Forces, standard jet trainer between the early 1960s and 2000. It was designed and produced by Canadian aircraft manufacturer Canadair.
In 1967, ten Tutors were modified for use as a formation aerobatic aircraft by the RCAF demonstration team, the “Golden Centennaires” to celebrate Canada’s centennial year. At the end of the 1967 season, the demonstration team was disbanded and the ten aircraft were returned to routine training duties.
The “Golden Centennaires” visited Kirtland Air Force Base on November 17 and 21st, 1967. They were not able to give a demonstration while here however their formation break and landing was a thrill for everyone who witnessed it.
