The Beechcraft King Air is an American utility aircraft produced by Beechcraft. The King Air twin-turboprop models have been divided into two distinct families, the King Air and the Super King Air. The Model 90 and 100 was developed in the 1960s are King Airs, while the later T-tail Model 200 and 300 were marketed as Super King Airs although the name “Super” was eventually dropped by Beechcraft in 1996. The King Air was the first aircraft in this class and was produced continuously from 1964 to 2021, outselling all of the available turboprops combined. The King Air Model C90 was introduced in 1971 and is based on the B90 but used the Model 100 cabin design and pressurization system and came with a 550 hp PT6A-21 engine. There were 507 aircraft eventually built by Beechcraft.

Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS) is a private not-for-profit health care system and health care provider based in the State of New Mexico. PHS owns and operates nine hospitals throughout New Mexico. In 1908, Rev. Hugh A. Cooper, a Presbyterian pastor in Albuquerque, founded the Southwest Presbyterian Sanatorium in response to the hundreds of tuberculosis patients coming to Albuquerque at that time. In 1950, with tuberculosis cases disappearing, the board of directors hired a new administrator with a new focus and the Presbyterian Hospital Center was created.

Presbyterian Air Ambulance service used this Beechcraft King Air C-90, N960A, plus three other King Airs to fly medical patients across New Mexico and neighboring states. The service began in May 1986 and was based at the Alameda Airport in Albuquerque.
