Additional Information:
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) acquired two Martin B-57As to be used to check the accuracy of airway navigation aids and to evaluate the flight testing of the high altitude air traffic routes across the country. Aircraft N96 was formerly 52-1438 and N97 was 52-1447. Aircraft N96 crashed on June 7, 1960.
The aircraft were not assigned to Albuquerque but they were a frequent transient visitor from Fort Worth, Texas beginning in 1957.
