Additional Information:
The Ryan 260 Navion is a single-engine, unpressurized, retractable gear, four-seat aircraft originally designed and built by North American Aviation in the 1940s.
The Ryan Aeronautical Company went into the private plane market in 1947 with the Navion. It was designed for small companies as an executive transport. The owners like the plane because it was a very big, rugged, fast, safe, and easy to fly. Over 1,200 were built along with a military version the L-17.
The Kirtland AFB Flying Club in Albuquerque had two of these aircraft for use by their members in 1961.
