Trans-Texas Airways began local service air routes from Albuquerque to Dallas via several eastern New Mexico and west Texas cities in 1963 using 23-passenger Douglas DC-3 aircraft. By 1964 the carrier began upgrading their service witn the 40-passenger Convair 240. Two of the tail numbers that flew in and out of Albuquerque were N3785 and N90858. By 1966 the aircraft were retrofitted with new turboprop engines and reclassified as the Convair 600 “Silver Cloud”.
